The Flegler hit was high. Was it a sin bin? Debatable. but IMO yes. Were there other incidents by the Sharks that should have been sin bins? Yes. Is that consistent? No.

And THIS is the issue in a nutshell. It isn't just the decisions at times, it is the inconsistency. Under this current regime, that inconsistency has just reached an all time level of incompetence.

Also, Josh Hannay's press conference was all class. I've been quietly thinking, I wonder if it would be worth bringing him on as an assistant if the opportunity arose.

Not even trying to trigger Huge, but boy oh boy, Kennedy was trash tonight.

He was playing solid footy a month or six weeks ago, but he’s getting worse with each week that passes.
Yeah I said in the live game thread that when he simplified his game to just running hard, finding his front and getting a quick play the ball, he was doing really well.

However, the past several games he is trying to become a ball player. He has been running across field and throwing offloads out the back to noone and other loose passes.

Kennedy just needs to play his role in the team. If he can simplify his game again, he can regain that form.

Agree. It's a high shot, contact with the head and very forceful. Look closely and you'll see the Sharks player try to step, so he bends his knees and drops that critical 2 inches that changes it from a great tackle to a high tackle. But the onus is on the tackler to just aim lower just in case.

Milford had some great plays in attack, but where we lost it was, as @Big Pete said, instead of just playing the percentages and making sure to get a good kick away on the last, he went for the big plays that weren't on and absolutely gifted the Sharks the field position that ultimately led to their run of tries. It's dumb enough in normal play, even dumber when you're down to 12 men.

Well I'm a bit late to the party, I had to watch this one on delay.

I didn't even think Flegler made contact with the head.

I thought overall good signs tho, we need to be a bit smarter and find a front row partner for Haas, we struggle for metres and direction when he isn't on the field.

The referreeing tho is a farken shambles, so farken sloppy, the sharks were offside all night and at times the 10m was barely 8m.

"If Haas is worth $1 million and Kennedy is on minimum wage, on work-per-dollar Kennedy only needs to make 1.9 runs, 20-something metres, 10 pcm, and 2.5 tackles to be on par with him".

True, unless you're Latrell Mitchell and then it's the ball-carrier who must be more careful...or something?

Agree with the Milf assessment. He loves the big plays and gets bored with the sensible style play. However, I think it was the first defensive sets that tired us out and the multiple defensive sets with 12 men that killed us. Less likely we lose that game if we had fair ball for the first 10 min.

Are we to blame? I don't know because who even knows whether the 6-agains are legit these days? They're certainly not consistently applied throughout the game.

Are you alt-ing for @Huge? Is that why you changed your avatar to Porkins? Because he is huge?

We’re the broncos. We will always get the 50/50s against us and will always be hounded by the media due to the clicks we provide. It’s part of the package and we need to be good enough to overcome.

Doesn't matter how rose tinted those glasses are boys, that's a cut and dry high shot.

I agree. But honestly, that isn't what I would call a "fair comp."

In the case of the recent new crop of young players, I actually think that it was terribly damaging to their psyches. I mean, many young players suffer from their talent, but suffering due to playing for a specific team as well as their talent, that is wrong IMO.

I have never seen more young players crying on the field on a regular basis as last season, and I don't think "toughen up" is a legitimate response to that. It's not possible to overcome the odds, when the rules are meaningless and changed on a whim to impose a direct disadvantage with such efficacy.

I don't think you're getting what everyone is pissed off at. This might help....

Seen as you went to so much trouble with the flegler hit, do a freezframe/slow-motion of the ramien hit and you might start to get it. Then, this weekend and every game for the next year (if things continue the way they have been), I bet you a very, very, very large sum of money I can find a worse head high in every single game that will not even go penalised.....

Yep, and Kevvie said as much. But he likes Tom's aggression, it's just a case of managing his discipline, find the balance, so he doesn't find himself sitting on the sideline a lot. Piakura one he wasn't 100% convinced.

problem i have with it is the first point of contact was chest on shoulder, when you hit someone that way there head is always going to go forward into the shoulder/arm at most it was a penalty but 10 min in the bin nah not on the same level as the latrell hit on manu.
