So, almost certainly playing the warriors (assuming SJ plays next week). It will be that side of the draw and they should beat whoever remains to face them.

It sucks to be the ones to kick them out but, without sounding cocky, it does appear likely to be a Panthers Broncos grand final.

Odds posted on the ladder page on NRL.com have Panthers $2.30, Broncos $2.50, the next best being the Storm at $13.00.

Yeah, this is a concern. Not sure I would be able to do the Saturday because I may have to work the next day. Better bloody be the Friday!

If the NRL need to factor in the Warriors, then I guess we're going to have to wait another week to find out.
I think the NRL might say 'f the warriors' because the Lions have the Saturday night prelim at the Gabba and they won't want the corporate competition. I noticed on Friday night heaps of the open air corporate boxes on level 4 (technically lower bowl) were empty. So if we are the Saturday, they should really get selling them asap. Or at least sell them to the general public.

Few things to consider! But I really want the Friday night because if we qualify for the GF, we will have the most fan support at the GF.

The only team I'm worried about is the Knights TBH. They played Penrith twice for a 1 point loss and an 8 point loss pumped the Storm from 12 nil down got beaten by us in the last couple of minutes. They have consistently worried the top sides and have improved off the back of a Ponga form surge.
Very dangerous side which I will be happy see get eliminated prior to our prelim.

Just watched the replay of the Storm game, different perspective from high in the stands.
That performance was very good but to beat Melb with that many unforced errors it's scary to think what we can do with a near perfect performance. That result could easily have been north of 50.

I don't think the Knights will get by the Raiders tbh.

I'm not overly concerned about the Knights. They have been playing good footy but also flying under the radar somewhat so I think teams have been taking them lightly. IIRC when we played them we were WELL off our game, that was during our pretty mediocre stint through the middle of the season where we were winning ugly. We just had too much class for them, and that has not changed, especially when Ponga isn't 100%.

I don't remember their games vs Panthers or Storm so can't really comment on those, but I can't see them either a) legitimately troubling our defence, or b) going with our power game. We can score far, far more points than they can. They are pretty well-balanced with strike players in both backs and forwards, but head to head...it's really not a contest.

Besides, that game - assuming they win tonight and then knock off the Wahs in NZ next week - will be at Suncorp. I expect the crowd to be bigger and louder than Friday night. I give whoever we come up against pretty much zero chance, assuming we're focused like we were Friday night - we will simply blow them away.

It should be us and Panthers in Sydney for the big one, which really is the appropriate GF given the season. Do keep in mind we have only lost one game away all year and that was in Melbourne...so we haven't lost a game in Sydney at all this year...

The team that probably worries me the most is the Raiders but I can't see them making it that far.
Both the Knights and the Warriors heavily rely on one player SJ and Ponga. Whereas Raiders will tough out a win and try bash you in the process.
Raiders I think will try bash Ponga today and with him already carrying a injury and his past with head knocks there's a chance he doesn't line up next week or against us if they make it that far.

@ningnangnong can't you just go rogue and drive a train up yourself? Just don't tell anyone?

I think if the raiders had Papa and Horse they’d be a chance but I can’t see them overcoming that loss in the middle. Remains to be seen tho of course because they do have a way of out niggling the opposition and Gamble could fall for it hook line and sinker.
