But seriously how did we get here?

Should have bowled them out for 120-130.

Should have had a massive lead.

And here we are 3/30 chasing 280

...fucking, 50?

I made the joke that this might be all over before the footy to my brother. Maybe not such a joke?

Getting embarrassing now.

Losing a test to the West Indies and now a test in NZ both for the first time in a billion years is a big disappointment.

Just showing the soft under belly that this still has at times. In fairness though, they’ve achieved a lot.

Considering that 5-100 is now Australia’s default, I think New Zealand has enough to win this
It’s so easy predicting how bad this Australian batting is..

Barring a big about-face in performance next summer, India wins the series 3 or 4-1

This is actually the difference between the two sides. Australia has a bunch of bats either getting too old or hopelessly out of form and no one to replace them with. India had the same issue with guys like Pujara, Rahane, Dhawan, etc and replaced them with freaks like Jaiswal, Gill and Khan who all look like they are not only better but potential all time greats.

Give them 30 games / some series away from home before you get carried away with all time talk .

Kuggeleijn has just totally released all the pressure here, he is bowling absolute trash. Of course he will now get a wicket, just watch.

We’re never going to be able to match India’s depth.. those days are long gone.. but there’s no reason why Australian cricket shouldn’t have SOME depth across all areas, including red ball batting.. that means having at least a handful of players in the domestic ranks who could, at a pinch, be called in to do a job at Test level..

At the moment, our red ball batting is a castle built on sand..

Credit to Marsh and Carey, they rode their luck but counter punched and the pressure was showing very badly on NZ.

But the job is only half done and will need to be fully done before the new ball arrives and they can do it without batting stupid as well. Very even at the moment but another 1 wicket or 30 runs one way or the other will says who is ahead.
