Looks like Mal can't decide on Inglis or Bowen to FB.

It has to be Inglis, but in saying that, Bown and Thurston are made to play together, they are ****ing freaks.

Did Mal say Bowen was also waiting to see how an injury turns out? With injury clouds over so many key players, it's hard to know who will end up where or even if he will need to pull more players in. Hannant, Thaiday and Hodges are all not certain yet (though I think Hodges would be the most uncertain from those three). Maybe Nielsen is there to cover for Hodges too? T'eo also a centre option? So many possibilities. I guess we have to wait until Thursday / Friday to get a clearer picture when players who aren't playing are released so they can rep their clubs....

That's great work that Teo has pushed into the side, would love to see him put on a few of those big shoulder charges!!!

Hopefully Mal can name his 17 by Friday so the 18th, 19th and 20th (in the event any are bronc's)can still play Friday night or would there be some kind of leinency ya reckon??....would be aweful to miss the club game then miss out on the Origin at the last minute

I think Taylor & Gillett will be omitted & maybe Shillington.

IMO: They will keep Bowen, even if Slater is fit.

WTF. Shillington ?! No way in hell he will be omitted. He was players player in game 2 and imo was our best forward by a country mile.

Im hoping Gillet gets dropped for Te'o and thats it. Tell taylor this is his last chance. If he cant rev up for a decider in brisbane with his origin life on the line, then there is no point ever selecting him again, but at least give him 1 last chance.

I wonder how they'll use Parker and Myles? Both are 80 minute middle field back rowers. Obviously they won't just use Parker on the left for 80 minutes, because then you'd have Taylor and Te'o/Gillett sharing minutes with Thaiday down the right.

I wonder if Mal is giving thought to Bowen on the bench?

Exactly! If that doesn't lift Taylor, nothing will. He should be running like T-Rex.

@ Bucking Beads - I honestly think you're wrong :tsk:

Harrison is also an 80 min specialist tho, doesn't mean they have to play 80 in origin. Only harrison played 80 mins out of the backrowers in game 2. I would think at some stage we might see myles or thaiday move to prop opening up a backrow spot.

Or, as u said, bowen will be on the bench in which case inglis would start fullback, with teo in the centres. Bowen comes on for inglis, inglis to centre and teo to backrow.

Settle petal, I did say maybe.

maybe theyll drop cameron smith. maybe theyll drop inglis. why even bother saying it just to come back and say "i did say maybe"? it wont happen and theres no reason for it to happen.

i wanna know what is going to happen to the 5-6 "maybe" players in this squad this weekend. will Te'o miss the broncos game and then maybe only be 18th man for QLD?

They usually let the 18th man back to play for their club the weekend before, so hopefully that remains the same in the scenario we have now. Mal did say in the press conference that they were mindful about the time they have to narrow it down to 17 in direct relation to the weekend NRL matches, so perhaps they will know for sure toward the end of the week and it will just be the actual positions which are up in the air.
