For Walsh’s sake I hope the selectors put this performance into context in terms of the opposition and how bad Ponga has looked up until this game.

To be fair, he only had the one bad game against the Eels and really it was to be expected given he’s not a 5/8.

He returned against the Cowboys and played well, he was looking threatening and had a couple of lb assists and a try assist.

He’ll be playing at fullback in the Origin arena which is where he belongs so we’ll see a better performance from him.

Well looks like Ponga is guaranteed to be picked for origin after tearing up a garbage titans side. Thank god the broncos will have Walsh over the origin period

Just as a little bit of a preface, I’d take a clean sweep Qld loss if it meant the broncos going undefeated over the origin period.

Ponga’s game against the eels wasn’t just bad, it was horrible: he missed something like 10/13 attempted tackles and killed the knights in attack. The cows weren’t exactly playing that great to start the season. As for today, Bradman Best is looking like a prime Inglis today against that Titans edge.

Walsh along with Latrell have been the form full backs in the comp by a wide margin. It’s tough on Walsh to have a bloke who has played terribly outside of one or two good games against crap sides to be picked over him, but at least it will mean the broncos spine will remain intact for the origin period.

Ponga has played more than one or two games. The cowboys game was a horrible one but let's not pretend that Walsh has played great every game this year.

Ponga is the incumbent FB in a winning QLD side and on top of that played an absolute blinder that series. He will be picked unless he shits the bed.

Good win for the Knights. They had their issues down their left-side but they completely out-muscled the Gold Coast on both sides of the ball in that second half. Once they started to get on top, that's when Ponga started coming into his own and the replacement players were like sitting ducks. Poor Iszack got beaten every which way in that Ponga try.
