NEW FITNESS BATTLE FOR KANGAROOS
Australia faces a nervous wait on the health of another key member of its spine after fullback Darius Boyd failed to finish the team’s first training session on Tuesday.
Boyd came off the field and was assessed for hamstring soreness midway through the session before being immediately taken back to the team hotel.
Josh Dugan and Valentine Holmes filled in at fullback for the rest of the training run, however team officials say Boyd’s early withdrawal was only a precaution.
“He’s got hamstring tightness. He’s got back to the hotel for further assessment. He’ll continue to be assessed over the next few days,” a team spokesperson said.
Boyd is the second player under an injury cloud heading into Friday’s Test against New Zealand, with star five-eighth Johnathan Thurston also battling a calf problem.
Thurston completed the entire two-hour session, as well as a solo regimen with team doctor Chris Ball.
Second-rower Boyd Cordner said Thurston, who has missed the past three NRL games for North Queensland, was likely to make a call on his status on Wednesday.
“Anyone who knows Johnno, or had anything to do with him, he’s a competitor. I think he was close to playing against Parra,” Cordner said.
“He trained yesterday and he said he pulled through okay. We’ve got another session today, so he reckons if he gets through that, he should be sweet.”

Are injured hamstrings contagious? Maybe they just want to keep him away from Dugan.

Boyd is indigenous now? Seriously though I'm pretty sure if you tear your hammy there's nothing that rushing you to hospital can do to help.

The problem is, there are people all over Facebook that are gullible enough to believe him. Some of the Broncos groups are in fucking meltdown over it.

It's just tightness, nothing more.

Boyd will be playing this weekend. That's been confirmed by Cronk.

Thurston is all but certain to take on the Kiwis after completing Tuesday's training run, while Darius Boyd is also on track to play despite failing to finish the session.

"He's (Boyd) absolutely fine. He's getting treatment and there's no issue whatsoever. He'll be lining up in the number one jersey on Friday night," Cronk said on Wednesday.

Man, that must be an amazing hospital emergency department. They fixed a torn hammy in a couple of days!

Yeah he said that one last year too. He even said he was in talks with Doust. I wonder if he will crack the shits if Widdop and Hunt get the nod ahead of him. Clearly he is the better option. On a serious note I wish the media would stop paying attention to him and printing what he says.

So is that his Origin career done? I swear he said this would be his last year. Even though I'm not his biggest fan it's a bit shitty and he does deserve better.
