At least a hint of independence would be pleasing. A cockroach Origin player fronts the judiciary so they have a former blue, a Sydney born and bred player, and a Kiwi who lived and played mostly in Sydney on the panel.

Why isn't there an appeals process? I don't know the details but shouldn't whoever gave him the charge in the first place be able to appeal it? I had no idea the judicial panel had such bias in it. Silly me I just assumed it was fair LOL

Side note dce has done something to his hip and will miss the manly game. God forbid he misses game 2,what happens then??

Hardly surprised.

Disappointed by the result from the judiciary but glad he's playing, to be honest. Don't want any excuses when we belt them from pillar to post in game 2.

In case people haven't seen yet, nate Myles has broken his hand so he's in doubt too. Out of the 5 injuries Smith is most likely to play

I just pray we don't lose him too.
What are people's thoughts on Slater, assuming he recovers a few days before the game, does he play? Or do they allow someone else to train in his position. I don't want to see another cronk/dce upset where a player hasn't trained to be ready for an injury. Especially after the scroll of casualties from game 1

Myles is our biggest loss imo. We are already struggling for go forward and lets face it, myles was the main reason we setup camp on their tryline all second half. his ferocity in tackles was amazing and really lifted anyone else.

Slater we can cover with inglis and chambers
Cronk we can cover with DCE
Smith will play but if he doesnt we dont lose a great deal with jake friend
Myles... hes irreplaceable right now. 15 hitups (most of any forward) and 39 tackles (2nd only to smith)

Thats my concern too. I think slater will play, injured or not. We need him to be fully fit or not play. Tbh, i hope he doesnt play so we can use inglis at fullback where he is best. Chambers will slot right in to centre. Inglis at fullback makes the team stronger.

That's it. I've been worried for awhile with how addicted the qld selectors are with slater at fullback and not giving Inglis a go despite how well he plays there for souths.
Slater in form, no question he goes to fullback. But he's had a knee problem for awhile and now with this shoulder, would they not be pretty stupid to play him?

Might be a big call but I think the whole series might hinge on whether dce plays or not. I'll be hiding if he doesn't

My team for SOO 2
1. Slater
2. Boyd
3. Ingliss
4. Hodges
5. Tate
6. Thurston
7. DCE (Hunt if he is out)
8. Scott
9. Smith
10. Myles
11. Guerra
12. Thaiday
13. Parker

14. Gillet
15. Taylor (if he plays well the next couple of weeks)
16. McGuire
17. McQueen / Teo

We need bigger fowards on the bench. Parker can play 80mins. Scott and Myles need a rest. Mcguire will be great off the bench. He will run all day. If Taylor plays like he did against the warriors then he needs to be picked. We need big bodies running hard and fast.

My team would be

1. Inglis ( dont want slater to play coz he wont be 100%)
2. Boyd
3. Chambers
4. Hodges
5. Tate
6. Thurston
7. DCE (Hunt / Sandow if out)
8. Scott
9. Smith (Friend on standby)
10. Myles (Lillyman on standby)
11. Guerra
12. Thaiday
13. Parker

14. Teo
15. Taylor
16. Lillyman / Lawrence
17. Milford

McQueen, Papalii and Gillett have been carried, they should be shown the same treatment as D taylor did when he was a passenger.

Do you guys who are saying you hope Slater doesn't play realize how good he was on Wednesday night? You saw what happened when one of a legendary spine went down what happened. If Slater goes down too, be careful in assuming Inglis will automatically be better.

And someone, anyone, needs to be tasked with marking Hayne from the get go.
It was ridiculous how much he was allowed to move

Big call keeping gillet. But I guess who else is there

Yeah he probably bombed a try and that is unforgiveable but he also played pretty well outside of that and his defense along with Myles in he last thirty constantly pushed NSW back.
