Pretenders or contenders?

We were never really contenders in the first place. Melbourne Storm was still far abovr us even when we were wonning.
Melbourne is the only contender.
 
Hahaha, forget it.

Playing three numpty teams in a row made us look better than we are.
 
I rescind my contenders comment. I will now put this in 'New answer pending' catagory.

This is another loss we had to have, hey?

Last week was an off night. As for using the excuse that we have players out, so do they. More of them in fact, 3 of them spine players.

All of the talk has been about Melbourne. How they will annihilate everyone so this was our chance to really show what we can do against a top 4 side, to show the Sharks was no fluke. So what do we do? We crumble and burn.

And that's what we have been doing all year against sides that have that fucking hunger and desire to win every contest against us. We lose and we lose badly.

It's not something you can just develop overnight. It's something you build towards, it's something you aim for and we aren't doing that. We have gone backwards these past two weeks, not forward.

This is why we are pretenders. We do not have that hunger, that desire, that killer instinct that we had in 2015 or 2006.

Yep come back to me if we play this again in two weeks. We've qualified for the finals, probably already top four and started the game horribly. Boyd and Blair have been directly responsible for setting this rot in and have had a supporting cast of two or three.

We have cattle to come back that will make a huge difference. French is not a spine player usually now and Pritchard has been out forever, so he has been compensated. Gutherson is a huge loss sure, as is Mau but their side didn't drop it early and not turn up did they?

I'm not saying we will win it but I am saying it is ridiculous to call the team currently running second in the comp with the best attack and third best defense across 24 rounds pretenders. Right now there are three teams that can win it - Us, the Eels and the Storm.

The Roosters and Sharks obviously can go up a few gears but we are having a massively off night, it happens. Yes, it is concerning in round 25, very concerning but again, calling the team currently running second pretender is absolutely ridiculous.

No team has won a comp after having 50+ put on them. 50 points = Instant OHKO of season. Season over.

If it was mind games we would have let about 20-30 points put on us. Not abruptly have our season end with that shit we just dished up.

Deep down no one is happy about this, that's fucking BS. Some people can just admit when you just know we are making up the numbers.
