It all comes down to their attitude and how badly they want it.

We've got the roster to win a premiership.

Agree with the Sharks. With them clamping down on the ptb this year, they'll never get out of their own end with the amount of penalties Fatfita will concede

Yeah I agree, especially with the departure of Bird and Maloney, and their downgrades of Dugan and Moylan, Gallen another year older. They won't be anywhere near the team they where in 2016. IMO the success that year was largely due to Ennis and Maloney and both of them are gone.

Just read on fox sport the NRL expert gave there view on season 2018. Matthew John has predicted us to go backward this year. I hate this man he always talking us down. His picked a storm v cowboy grand final. I dont think so Lol. Also, no one has pick us to be the premier this year. What a surprise right!

He's clueless. He tipped us to miss the eight in 2017 as well.

We will miss Blair. He was a great player for us.

For about 18 months he was. His last season was pretty terrible for the most part

We won’t miss his kickoff return offloads and injuring teammates.

I know that reduces his time here a lot, but outside of lifting when McGuire got injured toward the end of ‘15, that’s what he’ll be remembered for

I was one of the ones hoping he stayed but what he dished up for the back half last season was poor and made the decision to not offer overs a shrewd one.

If he had of played like 2015 post maguire the rest of the time, it'd be different.

Should have changed it from predictions to "what I want to happen in 2018". M johns hates us due to Bennett not winning a gf for Newcastle, he loves brown for delivering 3 spoons though-Bennett only got them to a measly prelim when the players weren't getting paid and a player lost the use of his legs for the rest of his life, minor obstacles for the fraud (note sarcasm please)

Spot on. Same with some clueless Dragons supporters banging on about Bennett fucking the club...The ones with half an idea would have him back in a heartbeat.

To be fair, M Johns said he thought we would go backwards, but then qualified that statement by saying "not much, just a bit" so based on that he has us as top 8 but not genuine contenders

Until we see how KNik performs, it's hard to argue with him really

Kind of funny though in one section he says we'll go backwards because Hunt was a big loss and then in the next sentence indicates that dragons will also go backwards.... so Hunt is a loss to us but won't improve the team he's gone to???

How bad must he think nikorima is? Knik for all his kicking faults won't send us down the table. He brings his strengths too, and they won't see us rise either, . ....unless we perform as a team. We look pretty good that way, with no obvious problems, barring our long kicking game. Thing that was there last year and we finished 3rd. Knik is now training as a half, we have huge forward depth, huge backline depth, some pretty astute leaders and a very good coach. If anything both our backs and forwards are stronger, whilst our halves have the potential to go better. That doesn't add up to us missng the 8 to me, unless the others have each found a "lockyer" in their ranks, but we'll see.

All the so called experts are strongly tipping cowboys and storm... I think the storm will easily finish top 8 but I don't have a lot of confidence in the cowboys for some reason, I think JT and Scott will be rushy. I think either this year or next will be very interesting in terms of the teams that have been struggling turning a corner and being genuine contenders, which is exciting because there are no real weak teams this year
