Easier for him to stand out at the Dragons in weak teams .

Rep caps are pretty light on the ground for anyone not named Cam Smith, Thurston, Cronk etc, who were his peers in his position throughout his career. That doesn't stop him from being elite.

He's also stood out as pretty impressive while playing in the Maroons jersey. Granted, it's the worst Origin team of all time, but still.

Dude, Jake played 80 minutes and made 53 tackles. You can't on one hand bucket him for being a spud, and then point to an inferior defender's record as proof he's some kind of prodigy. Billy has been fine for us, but no need to embellish it.

Dude, the comment wasn’t about quantity of tackles. Turpin can make a lot of them, sure. But they’re useless in the grand scheme of a game of rugby league. The comment you responded to was about quality of tackle. Walters has been folding people in half, getting them on their back and winning the wrestle in the process. Something Turpin can’t do with 53 legs tackles.

Plays #9 three times a year for a portion of a game before Harry Grant takes over . What is he going to impart to Billy that Cptn Coach Reynolds couldn`t teach him ?

Its hard to use that argument really when Berrigan played in a team with Hodges, Hunt, Lockyer, Webcke, Carroll, Thorn, Petero etc. Not difficult to have success in a team surrounded by blokes like that.

Quite possibly. My views on Billy Walters are so mainstream and ubiquitous, it's possible I assimilated them from the masses. You pair might very well be pioneers in this stream of fan service.

As for Turpin, it all seems consistent with @Sproj 's daily sermon that Uncle Nick can pick and choose whoever he wants regardless of price. He chose Jake Turpin, and yes, we can see it hurts.
