Storm in a teacup. All they need to do is claim the fact they are NRL reporters and so therefore inherently stupid, never deals in facts and are completely incompetent and the journalistic history of NRL reporting will prove this fact beyond doubt and they’ll be acquitted.

For those wondering, DT fucked up by putting a photo of the wrong person. Right name, different person. The Daine Laurie they're referring to is a former Tigers player that people might remember from 2008 when he made his debut against the Broncos in Round 15. He was the big Indigenous player with dreadlocks that the commentators wouldn't shut up about. He didn't last long in the NRL, though.

I'm not sure how DT could **** something like this up, but they found a way.

Wouldn't even be the first time News Corp used this defence.

correct I don't know if it's been used in Australia ... but Fox News in the US successfully used that defence when Tucker Carlson got sued a few years ago
 
David Nofoaluma, reportedly has not been to Tigers training since Wednesday. he is complaining about unfair treatment by the club. he has also lodged a complaint with the RLPA over the conduct of the club.

Sources with knowledge of the situation talking under the condition of anonymity said:
  • Nofoaluma struggled physically and with his fitness levels upon returning to pre-season training last month and was one of the team’s least impressive performers in a time trial.
  • the club and haven’t shown preferential treatment to him
  • He complained about the communication between him and the football department
  • as well as the training methods that have been adopted to try and improve his fitness.
The report says that after a meeting between the club and the RLPA, Nofoaluma agreed that he would return to training on Monday in an attempt to resolve the matter.

It's about time.

Maybe the Tigers can finally move forward now. There was a lot of rot at that club and it started with the head office.
