Or you know, actually REALLY expand and go to Perth, it really isn't that hard.
regional nsw is neglected if you are going to have a perth team revive the western reds this shouldnt be a either or situation

Hope you guys don't get out of it, love when other teams screw themselves with dumb recruitment decisions and have to suffer for it. Goodness me, in the Seibold years we had enough of those ourselves.
And apparently the dragons are interested.

Who is in charge of recruitment down there... is it their mission to take on every shit contract across the league??

really like the idea of this

edit: basicly to revive the bears as a regional nsw team and play games in tamworth, wagga wagaa, bathurst and coffs harbour

So you are gonna need at least 4 NRL standard fields in regiional NSW .
Which will get 3 or 4 games played on them over a year .
How many people do you reckon you can get to these grounds ?
That`s a lot of commitment for not a great return .

I think it is a fantasy .

Much like the Pacifica team .

more than would get to a roosters home game by double or close to it
and read the article it suggests that local government would need to invest money to bring it up to nrl standard.

It`s behind a pay wall cuz ...
I would expect that there are a fck ton more rates paid in Sydney to cover sports fields than in the regions .

Supreme Leader Anthony Albanese:

“That would be a wonderful thing to see the Bears in the NRL again. My first preference is to see a team based in Papua New Guinea. It’s a matter for the NRL, of course, but having an expansion team in the Pacific would be very positive for Australia’s national interests. As the league goes to possibly 20 teams over time, there is a potential for teams associated with the Bears to come back. I would also like to see Newtown come back. It would be great to see the Jets in the big league again … they are both wonderful brands.”
“This is a game changer for the relationship with Papua New Guinea, We’re definitely behind the NRL bid and, importantly, Prime Minister Murape in PNG is very much behind an NRL team. This is a country that will celebrate its 50th year of independence in a couple of years (2025). Having PNG participate in the NRL, I can’t think of any better way to get that ongoing relationship and engagement between our two countries.”

Ben Ikin:

“Finding a way to get the Bear's history back into the elite game would be magnificent. There is a dormant fan base that would immediately become re-engaged with the game. At the moment, the NRL is talking about getting to 20 teams … well use the Bears’ IP (Intellectual Property), seriously. For example, if the NRL is looking to Perth, they can say one of the conditions of getting a licence in that market is you are named the Bears. It’s not difficult.

“There’s a few contenders for an NRL licence such as the PNG Hunters and the Brisbane Tigers, but if the Bears were to come back, it would be wonderful for the sport.”

Heard on the radio this afternoon that Adam O'brien has re-signed with the Knights for another 3 seasons (until the end of 2027). if he serves out his contract he'll become the Knights longest serving coach ever.

I'm not sure what the Knights are thinking. I mean he's been at the club 4 years and his team has performed well for maybe half a season :rofl
