Reynolds and Alby Kelly :46 tackles between them and missed 9.
Townsend and Dearden :27 tackles between them and missed 4.

We have fantastic forwards, why aren't we running at the halves and hurting them, exhausting them before they can hurt us?

Coaching, bad game awareness and service from hooker.

Mmm, part of it I guess but forwards can think for themselves too! Dearden should have been made to tackle 20 times in the first 20 minutes!! Just tell everyone we aren't going anywhere else but straight at him, one after another especially when he's at marker/second marker!! I just don't get why we were sending guys headlong into the guys best suited for defence.

if i remember last year there was a game and Kevvie wanted the opposition halves worked over , our halves went away from the game plan and got smacked. point is do you really think that Kevvie would tell them not too ? I'm sure it was the end of Milford after that because he didn't execute the game plan.

I finally just got around to watching the game. The score looked bad but I didn't see a lot that has me in panic mode. Katoni game influenced Cobbo's and they both ended up costing us around 20 points at least.

I think this game brought me back to reality. Expecting us to go on a run was a bit of a pipe dream. We are not clicking yet obviously and we need more spark of the bench, I am with @Huge on his assessment of James not really offering much. Kev made a mistake by bringing in Jensen only to not use him effectively. Reynolds and Nui both are only into their second games as is Hetherington. The combinations are not there yet.

The biggest issue out of that game is our right side, in both attack and defense. They need to get some confidence and quick because they have been exposed this week. All it takes is a couple of tries, a few catches and a break or two and things will start working out.

I actually don't want Kev to drop anyone, this team needs the first seven rounds at least to gel. If we start cleaning house we will be stuck cleaning house every few games because nobody can form a groove. Like I said this week was a reality check for me. We will lose games, the boys just have to let that one go and build for the Warriors.
Cobbo showed his hand on his first kick chase where he strolled toward the winger without putting any pressure on him whatsoever. Staggs was shit and Cobbo was shit too, it was not because of each other. Cobbo went out there thinking things would just happen for him and they didn't. It was a lack of effort on his behalf.

On James.
For consideration here is his contribution over three games.

106 mins. 107 metres. 43 post contact metres

Yuk. That's one and three quarter hours for a whopping 107 metres.
****, he must talk a really great game.

Oh, in RKs 23 mins? In less than a quarter of that time he made 53 metres and 20 pcm. Didn't talk as much though, right? Maybe less talk more action from James?

I know who I'd rather have out there.
Neither. Thanks, let's move on.

there is an article with Cameron Smith giving it to Reynolds for going into basically limp mode , 4 hit ups and then kick. He is the guy that should be directing the forwards and edges at the halves , and then getting into a attacking position.

I reckon Riki going down early threw everything out, who would have thought. Kevvie didn’t seem to have a contingency and that was that.

Not saying he told them not to but someone isn’t showing them how to apparently. Unless 8 players are ignoring him every week.

Not getting a platform in the middle to allow a spread... try to spread off a slow ptb and the defence is up in your face before it gets beyond the first or second receiver.

like i mentioned we chased a general and he needs to put his hand up , our 7 needs to direct the team around and that's what he should have done. if we look shakey or clueless it's on him to direct and pull the players up and tell them where he wants them.

That's pretty much it, once we lose all these blokes who aren't genuinely winning us games don't have a spot anymore, I even read as people said Turpin did enough to keep his spot after the Souths game. Suddenly we cop a beating and half of our team isn't NRL standard, they were up to it a week ago, nothing changed.

Way too many over reactions on this forum.
It is all the people with more than 15K posts, we have from a very knowledgable source that they are the issue. You have such few posts you are clearly on the ball and know what you are talking about.

How is Albert Kelly a better option than Tom Dearden has turned out to be.

Kevin inexplicably was intent on moving Dearden on. Kid will be a star and play Origin.
