Pathetic display.
I turned the TV off 3 minutes into the 2nd half, I can't sit there & give me time and emotions to this team at the moment, when they give nothing to us in return as loyal supporters.

I like Griffin's temperament and composure whether we win or lose, but he has got to go. Enough is truly enough.
Sack all his assistant's except Corvo and study tapes of how up tempo and intense the Roosters play, FOR 80 MINUTES.

FFS.

I ended up going to the flicks to watch Bad Neighbours so missed the first half.

Came home to see us down 14-0, mount a bit of a comeback, then get rolled at the end. Bit of a bitter pill, though it sounds like the first half was even worse?

From what I did see, Hunt is continuing to be our brightest light this season. Hot damn it would be nice to have a better half to pair him with. Macca looked to be doing well. Some nice touches from Barba, Hodges and Copley.

Other side of the coin: Reed needs a stint in reggies. Dave Taylor would be proud of how he bombed that try. I know he tries hard, but he's a hindrance we don't need, until he can rediscover some form. Didn't even see Hala or Kennedy (gathering Hala was injured?). Some very soft defense leading to Lui slicing through twice.

Overall pretty disappointing. If there is a silver lining tonight, it's that Thurston and Scott look to be playing into good form leading up to Origin. And Pearce/Maloney continue to underwhelm.

As stupid as this sounds, I think it was good that we lost. 1) Griffin deserves it. 2) It really distinctively outlined our weaknesses that we can work on and 3) is the time where Kennedy is dropped. Oh well, just gotta move onto the next week.... We really need to sack griffin and bring back the true culture... We need to be known for what we USED TO be known for. We used to set the standards for the other teams, and now we're tryna find a standard. Very disappointing!

- The problem we have is that ben hunt is carrying the team; although hoffman seems to be improving, he has no kicking game!
- Ben hunt has to take nearly all the kicks, and mccullough with a few but just to sideline for breathers.
- Looking at ben barba from previous games, I think he has potential to kick a ball properly - just like that near try assist to reed...
- I'd say either put barba, duncan paia'aua, or jordan kahu - depending who has best ball playing AND kicking, as all 3 seem solid in defence.
- If barba or paia'aua happens to play 5/8, I would shift either hoffman, kahu or maranta to fullback. Personally I would place hoffman.

- This would be the squad that I think will achieve some success:

1. Hoffman
2. Vidot
3. Copley
4. Hodges
5. Maranta/Kahu
6. Barba
7. Hunt
8. McGuire
9. McCullough
10. Hannant
11. Thaiday
12. Gillett
13. Parker

14. Glenn
15. Oates
16. Wallace
17. Granville
Key reserves/2nd tiers: Lowrie, Mills, Hala, Stagg, Paia'aua, Reed, Dodds, Kennedy
Other players who may get a chance: M. Barba, Nikorima (Kodi and Jayden), Green (veteren), Molo, Ofahengaue, Drew (young winger), and although I believe he's not with us anymore but Whitchurch (promising player who showed good signs in 1/2 games).

We just gotta wait and see...

the silver lining is Ben Hunt. I think he has well and truly arrived as an NRL halfback rather than being an experiment. he still has a few doozies every game but those can be ironed out with a bit more experience and better coaching

The only thing that changes each week is the club we play. Same old shit every time.

We are such a fucking boring team. I am fucking sick of it. We are like a stale loaf of bread. I don't even care anymore, this team has taken all the life and passion out of my support over the last couple of years. It's depressing.

I nearly switched off after 30 odd minutes because it was obvious our game plan was the usual 'go through the motions' and hope for the best. I didn't though, and I'm watching on delay, so now I've wasted my night falling asleep watching us attempt to play footy.

Fucking sick of it. I'll keep watching and I'll keep supporting, but it's not even enjoyable anymore, it's just shit. It's a chore. I feel like I have to rather than want to.

Good night.

While it's great that Hunt is playing as well as he is, I fear he'll burn out early this season as he's doing everything himself. Like how JT just used to lose his shit post-origin as he had to do everything like usual to get them into the finals but it never came off and he got frustrated which then affected his performance even more.

Sadly not.

THE Broncos have completed a $3 million retention coup with in-form representative duo Matt Gillett and Jack Reed today securing upgraded deals to stay at Red Hill.

As revealed exclusively by News Limited, Gillett and Reed have inked new contracts in a major boost for the Broncos ahead of Friday night's Queensland blockbuster against the Cowboys at Suncorp Stadium.

The 24-year-olds were to come off contract at season's end but Broncos recruitment chief Andrew Gee has moved swiftly to reward Reed and Gillett for their blistering early-season form.
Brisbane hierarchy confirmed the pair's re-signing at a press conference this morning.
Utility Gillett has signed a three-year deal to stay at the Broncos until the end of 2016, while centre Reed is locked in until the end of 2017 after being handed a four-year contract.

oh dear, that was pretty bad. I almost don't enjoy watching us play anymore, i feel like I'm torturing myself. I love the team to much to not watch but i'm not excited for the games anymore like i used to be and this match made me understand why.

Press conference was unbelievable. Hodges seemed absolutely furious when he sat down, as if in a virtual rage.

Journalist to griffin: Is it a concern that you were dominated by the Cowboys pack and they just rolled through you?

Griffin: No.

Journalist to Hodges: You've played with him (Scott) a fair bit, what did you think of his performance?

Hodges: Can't take anything away from how well he played. Our forwards were just completely out played.

Says it it all really...

I don't have much to say tbh. Most things have already been said I would imagine......I haven't really bothered to read this thread in its entirety, so if I'm just re-hashing, my appologies. Just a few points....

1) The Cows played well, take nothing away from them....they knew which weaknesses to target and, as evidenced by the Hoffman to Barba only to be dragged back in goal moment, they wanted it more.

2) Hunt - Currently, the heart and soul of this team. I would love to see him with a little less pressure on his shoulders. This could be achieved by partnering him with an actual half. Not interested in opinions as to why this hasn't/can't/won't happen....it needs to happen. I've been saying it from the start of the season, you cannot tell me there isn't 1 half somewhere in our system that wouldn't be a better option than Hoffman @ 6.

3) The Bench - Someone please tell me Kennedy was injured. That is the only explanation I will accept for him only getting 20mins game time when we lost a player to concussion...

On the whole, a shit performance. Hannant would be laughing his ring off somewhere.

agree with all of this 100%. the hoffman experiment has run its course and failed, time for griffin to swallow his pride and make the neccessary changes.
